This short wildlife video was posted by Steve Caporizzo who, for 45 years, was Brattleboro's afternoon radio weather forecaster. Steve has a lot of Brattleboro-area friends and, as you may see, animal friends. He loves weather and he loves animals.

AIR QUALITY ALERT
Mastodon Post

Have you been getting an air quality alert today? I've been getting an alert this afternoon. Meteorologist Steve Caporizzo posted a graphic at Facebook, showing that the problem is greatest in the Hudson River Valley. So, it makes sense that the air quality gets worse as a person goes west from Brattleboro.

My sense of smell is not good; but it seems to me I am smelling the wildfire smoke indoors right now.

I'm waiting to get a Quality Air Alert.

LIGHTNING
Mastodon Post

Out for a very long walk this afternoon, I was about as far from home as I get when thunder got started in the distance.

The attachment is a word to the wise from Steve Caporizzo, our ace meteorologist, very recently retired.

STEVE CAPORIZZO, FORECASTING WEATHER ON WTSA
1981-2025

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1FnWJHBJYa/

When it became apparent that Steve Caporizzo and Russ Murley were no longer forecasting weather on WTSA - let go, I would guess, since they were both gone at the same time - I promptly resigned my position as a WTSA listener (1970-2025). Best of luck to Tim Johnson, Ian Kelly, and Dan Taylor. Maybe they can carry the station; but they are going to do it, if they do, with at least one less listener. For a very long time, WTSA has been offering less and less reason to tune in. For me, the rundown of its weather forecasting was the last straw.
