#FinishedReading the epic story of mammal evolution by palaeontologist #SteveBrusatte , from our synapsid ancestors to the modern day. Packed with interesting stories, both of the animals themselves and the diverse group of scientists who have helped us understand them. I particularly liked the weird 'walking whales' in the transition from land to sea, and learning that we primates form a branch of the evolutionary tree with, specifically, rodents and rabbits! #Bookstodon @bookstodon

Highly recommended book of the day is The Rise and Reign of the Mammals by Steve Brusatte. Companion to the Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs.
