Things like life-saving surgery and medicines make sense to me. We obviously take an animal to the vet because we care about them.
But when you look at it through the lens of #eugenics, it’s very creepy. In the USA, we have been putting disabled, 2SLGBTQIA+, and people of color into asylums and castrating/genitally mutilating them without consent. Because people don’t think they should procreate based on white/masculine/human supremacy.
I think if it had to be done, temporary #oralcontraceptives would be a better option. You could easily put it into food and then if they are #rewilded they would gain the ability to procreate back after some time.
I think if there are animals in need we should be focused on building new #animalshelters and #wildlifepreservations so that these animal's natural eco systems can THRIVE. For the animals that must live with us through no fault of their own, we should give them and their #bodilyautonomy and the utmost #respect (Continued in thread)
