Causes of spinal stenosis
The pain occurs due to a narrowing of the spinal canal through which the nerve passes. Changing your position may help.
The signs of spinal stenosis
The main symptoms of spinal stenosis are: pain in the spine, hips, buttocks and/or legs when walking or climbing stairs; the pain disappears with no movement or while sitting.
Is your back pain caused by stenosis?
Pain when walking a certain distance which relieves quite quickly when you sit down is a common presentation of this type of pain.
This man I worked with recently was able to triple his walking distance with a very simple change. He walked further than he had walked in years.

Having one of those days where not only is my pain high but my frustration is nearly as high.
It's been 3 years since my #shingles outbreak that led to the #phn #neuralgia that has caused me pain 100% of the time since;
It's been 15 months since a pinched nerve led to diagnoses of #foraminal #stenosis #degenerativediskdisease & resulting peripheral #neuropathy.
It's a day where I need to shout into a void that I am fucking sick of this & am not coping well atm. Sorry to rant but I needed to.
That awkward moment when you're trying to gradually return to work because your #chronicpain is slowly improving & your doctor says "There is no way I am sending you back to work now. Take four more weeks of medical leave and then we'll reassess."
Then that awkward internalized moment of simultaneous relief & guilt that the #capitalist ethic imposes even while your hand use is so limited.
