@wannabemystiker i host a website about #stealthsolar (solar panels that are subtle or not necessarily allowed), often it's a bit of a DIY affair. It's not extensive but might give you ideas https://squeak.solarcene.community/~stealthsolar/docs/
Stealth Solar - Subtle Ways To Generate Your Own Power

Introduction# What is stealth solar?# Stealth Solar is a concept of installing solar panels to generate your own electricty, the positioning of the panels is meant to be subtle either from an aesthestic point of view or to avoid obvious detection. In some places it might not be legal to install a solar panel so the user maybe looking to avoid being found out. The panel installations may be temporary or permanent and maybe off-grid or linked into the local grid. Stealth solar is similar to guerilla PV though guerilla PV often is associated with only setups that probably aren’t authorised.

I've made some updates to the #stealthsolar website https://squeak.solarcene.community/~stealthsolar/docs/

Added a little section about safety and also added some additional images about fence based panels and shed wall panels.

Still need to add my garage roof panels at some point

For the first time it's 2200 and my little plug in battery is still discharging, it has 20% capacity left. I think it's been a combination of the partially sunny day and our habits. We've needed some grid power as it can only output 800W so needs the grid for the big stuff.

I suspect we'll get through to 0030 where it is set to charge on the cheap tariff. Anyway it's exciting to see it all work!

Did some more #stealthsolar over the weekend, I've installed a single #solar panel onto my garage. What's tricky is the #garage has slate tiles which in my research are not easy to mount panels to.

As a temporary setup ive bolted 2 pieces of treated timber, one on each side. I've then attached a strip of outdoor foam to cushion it all. To help secure it the timber extends up to the ridge and I've used metal brackets which go under the ridge tiles which are easy to lift up, this screws down onto the wooden understructure but I've been careful not to have the metal touch the slate.

It seems to be working pretty well since, it compliments my wall panels

@colm @brittparis this looks awesome, always glad to see some #stealthSolar , let us know how it goes!
@froqstar that looks like exactly what I was looking for, would I be able to use that image on the #stealthsolar website I'm building? https://squeak.solarcene.community/~stealthsolar/docs/

Continuing the #stealthsolar theme, I took everyones helpful thoughts/suggestions/examples/pictures and have made a small website (hosted on my solar powered web server) called "Stealth Solar - Subtle Ways To Generate Your Own Power" with some thoughts about where to install #solarpanels stealthily : https://squeak.solarcene.community/~stealthsolar/docs/

Its still a work in progress, there are lots of spelling mistakes and I'm sure I can expand the sections further.

Dear #fediverse friends - does anyone have solar panels attached to their fence and use it to generate electricity (and be happy to share an image or two)?

I'm working on a website to document different types of #stealthsolar and don't have any images of #solarpanels on fences.

Success but suddenly started pouring with rain so now inside. 2 ecoflow 440W panels, 4 Renusol Metasole+ with end clamps, concrete screws to secure them to the wall.

The position means that they can't be seen by our neighbours.

Installing some #stealthsolar today!

(And using fixings that perhaps weren't designed for the job)
