Today the neon pink hair is getting redone for the first time since early April.
I love the stylist I get to see. The shop is full of weird art inspired by a mix of surf and horror pop culture, most of it made by the owner. The music is always good, the first time I went it it was White Zombie on vinyl.
There is a wall of customer graffiti and an overall premium design esthetic that is eclectic and sourced from repurposed goods and what isn't is premium tools.
I'm looking forward to it.
My desire for feminine long hair never reconciled with my stim issues from having hair in my face, being able to get haircuts that look good, and grow out well, where even two months later I look at the cut and still feel good and like it reflects me and my identity, it's one of those things that I am happy to pay a premium for in order to work with someone who is and inspires as a genuine artist.
