Thinking about creating a system for basically periodically scanning the inbox of a mail account, creating a #markdown draft which then can get approved or rejected by simply moving it to the appropiate folder. A #cronjob is then picking it up and compiling the forum page again.

This would work with mailto links, so any email editor is already the writing tool.

Using a static generator to host your website has many advantages. However, there are some drawbacks and constraints in terms of of interactivity. It is indeed a bit more complicated to build a dynamic interactive site, and you will probably have to ask yourself how to integrate a contact form. I’m a huge fan of static web apps mostly because of performance but also because they’re so easy to generate content using the tools that I use. I also enjoy using just Visual Studio Code and not opening Visual Studio anymore. When I first started web development, I used notepad instead of Visual InterDev. I was THAT guy.
