I think for a first try I have something to show for. I am going to point out what I could have done better: should have pointed the camera higher so for to include the polestar. That way, I would have got ridden of the foreground which now gets a little bit too much attention.

Love the #startrails which came out better than expected, especially considering the weather was far from ideal and also considering this is the most light polluted area in Europe (or even in the world.)

Also, next time I am going to try to ’tame’ the excessive light of the manufacturing site across the river, but I may have regained a lost love which is #nightphotography.

Brayshaws Homestead in Namadgi National Park is a great location for astrophotography. About an hour drive from Canberra it is in dark sky country. I took both these images on the same evening in September 2022. Just strolling through some old pictures... Startrails above the WHT and SST at the ORM, La Palma, Canary Islands. The night was starry, but with heavy (and cold) trade winds. Pictures was taken in January 2016, around midnight, Approx. 100 photos stacked.
