🧡4/4
This episode has the first of four in-universe pieces of music in Andor: the traditional Aldhani music sung during the revealing of The Eye. Excellent use of music to express energy, enthusiasm, and the confidence of knowing your place in history and in the universe.

Regarding the Eye, an interesting minor tension is displayed here between science and faith. Even though rebels and Imperials (all foreigners) know the science, they still share the Aldhanis' feelings of awe.

When Clem reminds Skeen of his motive to retaliate against the Empire, asking, "What about your brother, his orchard?", Skeen replies, "I don't have a brother." Does Skeen mean that his brother is dead and gone and forgotten, and for that he is seeking for his own survival rather than revenge? Or does Skeen mean that he was lying all along about that backstory that would have made him a bona fide rebel?

Regardless, I appreciate the complexity of Skeen and the acting!

And yet, Clem has the deepest connection with Skeen, despite Skeen's nosey exposing of Clem being a mercenary. They understand each other, and perhaps for that reason they trust but don't trust each other.

Of course, with Skeen now in full view of the rear-view mirror, I see everything he says in a different light. In particular, one must doubt his desire to help Nemik by triggering the medical doctor contingency plan. It gets the trawler to a location that he likes.

Re-watching Andor, S1E06 🧡1/4

In my first watch of this episode, I wasn't surprised by much. It seemed that their plan was executed so perfectly; all the suspense of the previous two, even previous five episodes seemed to be winding down to a positive outcome.

Of course, it all ends with the the treachery of Skeen.

Who was the least trustworthy of the Aldhani team? Perhaps debatable, but we know the most about Skeen, causing us to doubt his motives the most.

This is a great discussion on Andor. I upvoted a bunch of the comments and added a few of my own.

The question is: What is the smallest moment, lasting 3 seconds or less, that convinced you that the show was operating on another level?

* Eedy again, "I stressed that it was a large enough mistake to be DEEPLY EDUCATIONAL."
* Vel about Gorn, "Everyone has their own rebellion."
* Cassian, "Of course I'm afraid. But there's a difference between fear and losing your nerve."
* Skeen, "That's as close to an apology as you gonna get." Great mini-story of the development of their relationship.
* Kleya, "You said that an hour ago." I love Kleya - so authoritative.

🧡1/2 Re-watching Andor, S1E05

This episode is the tension-builder for the next episode. It doesn't seem like a lot is happening, but I enjoyed many of the conversations.
* Eedy giving Syril a hard time, but she cares for him.
* The conflict and ministory between Skeen and Clem
* Nemik philosophizing to Clem, with Skeen butting in. "Busy day, Clem. Finish your milk."
* Clem proving himself in the soldier march exercise.
* Blevin to Tigo, "You can wear a ballgown if you'd like."
