Video has spread on social media of staff at a Southern California surgical center standing up to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents trying to detain a Honduran landscaper. The agents had chased the man into the surgery center. Video shows Ontario Advanced Surgery Center staff in scrubs demanding to see a warrant and identification. They tell a masked ICE agent in a bulletproof vest to let go of the man and to leave the building. The Department of Homeland Security says officers were conducting a targeted operation when the man fled. They say the surgical staff “assaulted law enforcement.” Immigration advocates are calling the staffers brave. The landscaper was eventually arrested.

Protesters started gathering outside the ICE building around 6:00pm for a block party on Tuesday night. This followed a city council meeting where politicians and the public discussed the presence and role of federal immigration agents in the "sanctuary city".
