Seen last August - a lamppost/streetlight teetering on the brink of collapse after a summer storm in Brooklyn, New York. The location is Imlay Street in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Red Hook. Imlay is sparsely populated and lined with massive old factories and warehouses that are gradually being converted into apartments and office space (the process is not too far along yet). One notable attraction just off Imlay is one of New York City's ferry terminals.

The last year in Brooklyn, New York, has seen the proliferation of outdoor dining set-ups. While most are in the way of pedestrians, some are well-conceived and well-maintained. Others, like the one pictured here, are less so. Furthermore, what is with the standing water? Note that this restaurant is allowing standing water to collect next to and under its set-up. It has been a trend at this restaurant and others. Am I the only person in Brooklyn who understands that leaving standing water alone in the street is an undesirable state of affairs?
