Have a look if you are interested in what will be projected to happen to the distribution of commercial #squid in the next 100 years under #ClimateChange

Squid approaches post-punk through a highly artistic path, blending old school, upbeat, fun grooves with dynamic complexity and occasional burst of dissonance.

Squid is a post-punk band originally from Brighton whose work lies on the artsier edges of the current post-punk revival scene. Their music is often angular, happy with midstream shifts in direction if necessary (though not as jarring as, say, what black midi does), embracing a touch of dissonance, and riding the Krautrock groove. They are anchored around drummer Ollie Judge's rock solid beats and occasional manic wailing, which gives them the space to freely juxtapose distinct and contrasting styles as if each song is a collage on its own. Some of their songs enjoy a funky bass underneath B52s type vocals, taking turns with a jazzy trumpet hitting long and mournful tones. This is a band with serious artistic bravado who has, over time, found their way to a more settled and relatively homogenous sound as observed on their 2025 album, Cowards.
