BBC star Chris Packham demands supermarkets urgently BAN cruel male chick culling

From this morning, as I went out to try to get a better view of the curlew action, one adult flew over low, calling loudly and almost landed on my pick up.

This one came running at top speed also calling loudly in alarm, probably to distract me from it's chicks. I do live here, you know.

It's all been going on with the curlew again this morning. This male and his mate are very protective of their 3 chicks. They've had a loud fight with up to 4 other adults in the field there and all the way down the road to Unthank.

I have some better photos on my camera which I need to get onto the laptop before I can share them.

Do any birders know why other adult birds would be interested in the chicks? Is it some that have failed nesting perhaps? #Birds #Springwatch

City birds are certainly creative when it comes to finding a place to call home! This is the hole in the wall of an 1870s industrial building in Glasgow where a pair of blue tits have chosen to nest in, and this isn't the first year they've done so.
