I only see the #springtails when I'm editing...
the centipede is was about 25mm long in total, and this is just a section.

Globular springtail from different angles. I just might have to get a print of some of these.

Today I drove out to get a landscape shot at sunrise. Picked up a leaf to check for springtails, and found this beautiful creature. Forgot all about landscapes... Favourite find so far.

How many #springtails could you find in these photos? (#closeups in the comments)

I considered trying to find my first springtail to photograph, but I decided that I didn't have the right clothes on and my contact lenses doesn't help, so I just photographed some leafs instead.

When I reviewed the pictures, I saw several springtails in more than one photo. Guess I have to use my glasses when going on a #photowalk

Hundreds (thousands?) of animals in one cropped photo: I only saw these black dots on the Red Tree Brain Fungus (Peniophora rufa). On the computer I discovered the load of Springtails.

I had photographed some mushrooms. As I reviewed the photos, I realized they contained strange creatures I'd never seen before. I had no idea these tiny invertebrates called springtails existed. They're so small that it's not unusual for them to go unnoticed. They are tiny, ubiquitous animals that inhabit every continent. They are probably the most numerous hexapods on Earth.
