#FotoVorschlag “Voll Cool! // “ Too #cool !”

“Cool” is so relative, right? The first thing that pops into my head is a stereotypical 1950’s motorcycle gang with pompadour haircuts, leather jackets, and a cigarette hanging out of their mouths.

But to me? I think this is cool. I’ve always thought creatures large and small are cool. Especially when you can appear to shrink down to their scale with #macro #photography and take a peak into their universe.

Eris Militaris, I believe it was a male because the thorax was slimmer. I watched this spider stalk a little gnat that kept on landing on the same 3 leaves including this one. Everytime the spider got close the gnat would fly to another leaf. In this instance the spider had decided to ambush it by closing the distance on the other side of the leaf (very smart.) but the gnat had already flown away by the time he peaked over the leaf. I’m sure he didn’t go hungry though, he was too persistent.

Just found two spiders out in the garage fighting ...

I am wondering, do they fight like The Warriors? Or snapping their fingers as they hunch down walking sideways to their opponents?

Do spiders even have fingers to snap?

Do spiders know what West Side Story is?

Can spiders be greasers?

Inquiring minds want to know.

“Occasionally, there are things happening that I can only explain with the theory of them having a nightmare,” Rößler says. They’ll be peacefully dangling, legs curled in neatly, when suddenly “all the legs get extended at the same time, like aah!”

I’m sorry, this is way too precious!!! 😭 #spiders #spooders #arachnids

Do spiders dream? A new study suggests they do.

Jumping spiders rapidly move their eyes and twitch during rest, suggesting they have visual dreams, never before observed in arachnids.
