Dave Wyndorf spends most of the first few songs screaming, before he pauses on “Nod Scene” to smoke a bong and indulge the psychedelic space rock that tags Blue Cheer and Hawkwind, not Sabbath, as the band’s inspiration. By the time of the epic title track, you’re hearing basically what the Doors might have sounded like if Morrison had come of age in the 90s and done way weirder drugs.
