I’ve finished one of the mini-batts in a set called Carol of the Birds from Inglenook fibers. I’m looking forward to working through the rest. Plus I have another set of the same after this. Have to think about how to ply it up - chain ply? 2-ply same colors together? Random ones together? I will probably do same colors together to keep the consistency of each bundle because they are lovely on their own. #spindleBingo2026 crosspost #spindleposting #handSpinning #FiberArts
For IG #spindleBingo2026 I decided to try learning how to do a better job of winding on a turtle on a Turkish spindle. I used to find it annoying but now I’m finding it more interesting even though it does slow down the actual spinning. Here are two pics each of the top and bottom of my current WIP, a beautiful textured mini-batt of Corriedale, merino, silk, and tweedy bits. #HandSpinning #FiberArts #spindleposting
For IG #spindleBingo2026 I finished up a languishing WIP - plying these spindle-spin singles of rolags from Hikari Handmade. It looks maybe a little under twisted in the plying which is something I’m struggling with. Overall though I’m glad to get this off this spindles and ruin about what I might want to do with the rest of the rolags I have in this set. #handSpinning #spindleposting #fiberarts
Still making progress on my breed sampling for #spindleBingo2026 over on IG. So far I have got singles ready to ply of Suffolk (lighter grey) and Gotland (darker grey, middle). On the right, in progress spin of Wensleydale which won my “which one next” poll. I like it - it’s beautiful, spins lovely fine, and is easier to spin than the slipper Gotland. #handspinning #spindleposting #fiberarts
@inherentlee I think the official IG hashtag is #spindleBingo2026 ;) but most people seem to be using both.
Continuing my #spindleBingo2026 posting, today I started sampling two different types of fleece — one “down” type (Suffolk) and the other long-staple (Gotland). The Suffolk seems really easy to spin and the Gotland seems slippery. I have breed sets - 2 more down breeds and 2 more long -staple breeds. I’ll do at least one more of each to compare. #handspinning #spingo #fiberarts
