We get them big at home too, but I reckon the golden orb weavers/tiger spiders/Trichonephila plumipes get a bit bigger up here in Brisbane.
Both of these are females, but in the first photo there is also a male above the female in her web. The males are much, much smaller.
Went down to the lake today and found several zebra jumping spiders (_Salticus scenicus_) feasting on the midges (_Chironomus_ sp.) that are beginning to emerge!

A number of big golden orb weaver spiders too, mostly high up in the trees.
Small progress on this #drawing WIP. I'm still severely struggling against a bug, and my throat has started feeling sore.
I don't need tonsil-free tonsilitis again. Last time that happened, it caused breathing issues.
But at least I've made a little step forward with this.
