I love my local pub, not in an unhealthy alcohol dependent way, but as a place of memories, good food, wine, beers and today, I discovered this beauty. An English Rum, from Devon, and it tasted amazing. Subtle flavours, an amazing aftertaste, a real treat. My wife bought me a rum recipe book for my birthday and I'm now trying one of them, per the picture. Apparently, I'm supposed to leave it for a month, which seems like an inordinately long time just to be able to drink something that is already 50% alcohol. Anyway, for those interested, it is French island (Guadeloupe) "rhum agricole", which smelled pretty rough straight out of the bottle, to which a ton of sugary stuff has been added (cane sugar and agave syrup), along with some cucumber peelings and pear quarters.
