I've been whole afternoon installing and configuring the irc client #irssi.

I saw that #HexChat is discontinued, if I miss remember the dev abandoned the #project due lack of help I think...

Never touched the #IRC protocol. Into my house the Internet came around 2004 and in that time I was 11 yrs old and #Messenger in that time hit so hard.

Now, I have got the itch to try it and leave it in background with opened channels like #spectrwm, #debian, #irssi, etc.

To answer possible solutions to other users asking his troubles with linux, irssi, debian, or troubles of mine too.

Interesting paper on dynamic window managers vs floating ones.

TLDR: tested on a Dell XPS 13 (single screen, Linux), dynamic WM was ~38% faster for common tasks.

My take: tiling really shines on a single monitor — the tag/workspace system lets you mentally map your work and forget about window hunting. With 2 monitors the advantage narrows since screen space.

Okenní manažer i3. Zvykl jsem si natolik, že už ke klasickému chování oken nechci zpátky. Je to ale celé dost geekovská záležitost (hodně věcí si člověk musí upravit).
Zde jeden starší článek, ale stále aktuální (v základu se v i3 nic nezměnilo).
Velmi podobný window manager (co se týče ovládání a nastavení) je #spectrwm, který taky doporučuju. A pro Wayland (místo X) je tu SwayWM (prakticky kopie i3).

https://everybytecounts.org OS #benchmarks updated for 2023.11 with #Spectrwm and #LXQt on Alpine #Linux, and LeftWM on NixOS becoming 1year old. They were not removed since they will be updated in the next #OS release next month. It would be great if the #Rustlang based #LeftWM was added to #AlpineLinux, but not had luck with requests. #Q4OS 5.4 23.11 was removed. If there's interest for 5.6 to be tested, a new issue can be submitted https://github.com/crftbt/EveryByteCounts.org/issues. Does Q4OS not have a public #code #repo?
