Junge Haussperlinge sind Nestlinge. Solange sie im Nest sind, bekommen die Jungvögel vorwiegend Insekten, Läuse, Würmer und Raupen. Ausgewachsene Spatzen fressen neben Insekten auch Sämereien, Brot, Abfälle, Früchte und Beeren.
Haussperlinge sind sehr reinlich und baden mehrmals am Tag - von wegen „Dreckspatz“ 😉
