Opened the blinds to the sight of a sparrowhawk stripping feathers from a freshly killed starling. He saw me and flew off with it. I now have a perfect outline in blood on the drive, and a few dark feathers, the proof of a murder.

I was waiting for a local beaver to make an appearance, when a sparrowhawk flew onto a nearby tree and was kind enough to pose for a few photos before heading off. And the beaver did appear for a moment, to check the current ice situation.

I was too cold to look for Crossbill with Dave B so I stayed in the car, in the car park. No sooner had he disappeared around the corner when this male #Sparrowhawk flew in and perched up right beside me. Sometimes you're lucky!!!

There were no Crossbill for Dave B. Sometimes you're unlucky.
