A video documentation of the sacred time filters on Instagram. In January, Meta disabled users ability to create and use their own filters. Sadly, I can no longer use these to create (and neither can anyone else). It’s another strong signal that Meta isn’t interested in fostering creativity. Is there anyone working on some sort of opensource AR platform for the fediverse? I'm thinking on something similar to Peertube or Pixelfed but for facial filters.

Wondering about this in relation to the sudden SparkAR shutdown by Meta and a Screen Walk we just hosted with Lauren Miller who has researched on the hundreds of thousands of filters that will soon dissappear

Found out this week that Spark AR Studio / Meta Spark is also being discontinued, along with third-party #Instagram augmented reality (AR) filters...
