Right before our #CubanAdventures walking tour ended and we left #Havana to explore other cities for a week, I ran back and snapped this picture of #CastilloDeLaRealFuerza through the fence.

Unfortunately, this Fort did not open until the afternoon, so I was not able to tour it, but every missed opportunity is just motivation for another trip in a few years.

Since learning about this #fort (Castillo) when I was a college student, it became my favorite in the western hemisphere. The way that it rises from the rock with its imposing walls, dry moats, and firing positions in all directions always stood out to me.

The harbor of #havana was also full of people fishing both from shore and from boats, some of which were homemade using blocks to old styrofoam. In some cases, we even saw people spear fishing.
