I'm very sad to see the podcast conclude – if it really isn't coming back after some time. I liked what I learned over the years on astronauts and managers, procedures and missions, policies and people, as well as many geeky technical details.

Space Rocket History #465 – Apollo-Soyuz Test Project – Epilogue - Space Rocket History Podcast

Due to the deterioration of relations between the United States and the Soviet Union in the late 1970s, no follow-on missions to ASTP took place. A backup Apollo spacecraft and Saturn IB rocket were available and there were some discussions of possibly flying an Apollo to a Soviet Salyut space station, but with no government

Great episode on the different spaceflight cultures between USA and Soviet Union, and the egos involved.
I had never heard about the "RCS impingement problem" before, but it took long to get resolved!

Still following the nice #SpaceRocketHistory podcast, on the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. Recent episodes dive in more detail into the American-Soviet collaboration in 1971/72, involving supposedly secret trips that are leaked by the other side, suddenly getting rid of Salyut as part of the project, setting up phone calls, and using telex! 🙃
