I've just finished reading Cosmic Survivors by @vicorva ! It's been really soothing to follow Luxorian & crew's story, while on the train after work. This week has been quite exhausting and I was looking forward to my daily reading sessions.

As with most of V's works, it feels quite cosy. While all is not well in the galaxy, and the protagonists have their share of troubles, the tone still feels hopeful. Some problems are manageable, others are too big and too systemic for just a crew to solve on their own. But they still help people and alleviate the galaxy-spanning issues. The characters are very human, each with their personality, qualities and quirks. It's great to feel part of the crew.

This book is actually the second in the serie. The tone is similar in both, but the themes are different, as Luxorian and their crew are growing more comfortable with each others.

Even more excited about @vicorva 's upcoming #SpaceDragons: Luxorian's Crew after reading the first chapter. https://veocorva.xyz/space-dragons-luxorians-crew-sample-chapter/ This seems like a different direction for Veo, an adventure set in a grittier and less forgiving world than, say, Vanthis from Non-Player Character or Geminus of The Old Goat and the Alien. I can see the comparison to Star Wars with seedy spaceports and down-on-their-luck spacers--but the spacer is a dragon taking on a job that just may be too good to be true.
