Fantastica Music From Outer Space by Russ Garcia from 1958

"Fantastica by conductor, arranger and composer Russ Garcia (1926–2011) is not only a Space-Age artifact, but the genre’s very blueprint, even though Space-Age has existed before its arrival and is too heterogeneous a field to pinpoint anyway. Both its subtitle Music From Outer Space and the front artwork give the definite hint of where this album is situated and gyrating toward: to the pith of danger, or to be more precise, our solar system.

Released in 1958 on Martin Denny’s house label Liberty Records, Fantastica absorbs the alien craze of adventure plots, space travels, B-movies and Roger Corman flicks and pours it into an eclectic mould. And indeed, there were many people back then who believed in highly dangerous anthropomorphous aliens on Mars and elsewhere.." - Ambient Exotica

To Love Again Review by Tony Wilds

...his debut LP, To Love Again, is easily his finest work. By 1957, greatness already had been conferred on Esquivel in Mexico (where the album was recorded) and among music professionals in the United States. It was only a matter of introducing the man to the American public, and To Love Again clearly indicates a great concentration of effort, the culmination of years of preparation, professionalism, and perfectionism. The material generally is of the exotic, Latin variety associated with Lecuona. Xavier Cugat's "Nightingale," "Nocturnal," "Besame Mucho," and "Siboney" all are first-rate and compare with any of Esquivel's best later work. The remainder of the album really is about as good, making it consistently excellent from start to finish. The trademark chorus is present throughout...

Las Tandas De Juan Garcia Esquivel by Juan Garcia Esquivel Y Su Orquesta. released on RCA Victor in 1956

Juan García Esquivel (January 20, 1918 – January 3, 2002),[1] often known mononymously as Esquivel!, was a Mexican band leader, pianist, and composer for television and films. He is recognized today as one of the foremost exponents of a sophisticated style of largely instrumental music that combines elements of lounge music and jazz with Latin flavors. Esquivel is sometimes called "The King of Space Age Pop" and "The Busby Berkeley of Cocktail Music", and is considered one of the foremost exponents of a style of late 1950s-early 1960s quirky instrumental pop that became known (in retrospect) as "Space Age Bachelor Pad Music". - Wikipedia

last year I picked a few of the tunes I'd made up to that point and put them together thinking I would get a cassette made up and give it to people and so on, but then I didn't do it.

It's quite a nice compilation of stuff though, so here it is:
