Because they are never wrong, or rather because they are utterly impervious to even the vaguest suggestion that they might have a flaw, there is no such thing as cognitive dissonance (i.e. the discomfort other people experience when they try to reconcile two competing/conflicting ideas).
There is no cognitive dissonance, because the wound that even imagining themselves to be flawed would open up would be incapacitating, thus their minds just gloss over every form of hypocrisy or incompatibility.
It also helps if you aren't actually anywhere near as smart as you think as they both are.
