My first shot of an Aeshna cyanea – and even a female! – on a dying tree covered in lichen. This species rather suddenly began to show up last summer and most of the time quickly flew over my head. It took me a few weeks to identify it and so far remains my only proof that A. cyaenea has begun to seek out new territories.
