Made soup. Potatoes, carrot, onion, peas, pearl barley. Herbs were coriander, garlic powder and oregano.
I messed up and kinda over cooked the veg cus I should have added the pearl barley sooner lol.
I'd not have red lentils so I used pearl barley... don't know why I thought they would have the same cooking time 😅
What the fuck?
A few minutes ago I got a spoon out to try some and then lost it.... I thought I put it in the sink so I got a new spoon out.
I go to spoon the soup into the blender and... MY GAWD... I made the spoon into the soup!! XD
Whole different meaning to "soup spoon".
Idk how I did this at all. Bruh i am losing it 😭😅😂
Soup is fine btw.
Found a piece of bread I made a few days ago. I bread was fine but after a few days it goes stale(??) And normally I microwave it to freshen it (??). But I crumbled it and added it.
It was just simple bread but I remembered a vid about hardtack and how it was used ect ect and during wars ww1 and earlier. It was used in stew alongside otherstuff and it essentially just made it thicker.
Cus hardtack is hard it needa soaking a lot so having it in soup was a good way of eatting it.
Cumin and oregano actually do pair together somehow. Trust me I did like 4 seconds of research.
Now I'm thinking I haven't added enough stock now, on account for all the red lentils I threw in lol.
Oh no they expanded way more than I thought i guess. Who da thunk.
*thread of me making soup, which defo should not understood to be a call for help ;)*
Did not measure out the corn and I'm thinking i didn't add enough. This is just corn, onion and garlic (and salt) atm.
Accidently added the sweetcorn wayy too early lol.
Didn't look enough so I just added all the lentils I had.
Making soup with onions, garlic, frozen sweetcorn and red lentils.
It's probably gonna be mostly red lentils and sweetcorn and idk how that gonna be.
Onions are making me sneeze like wut lol
healing potion: soup
mana potion: also soup
and now for something a little different, namely #soupposting
if you have a favorite vegetarian recipe for soup which is based on ~1lb / 500g dried beans of any kind (the standard small bag size in American supermarkets), please share!
I have dry pinto beans, black beans, navy beans, great northern beans, and chickpeas on hand. and I need to do something with them!
I'm still workshopping a black eyed pea #soup recipe with collard greens, I'll share that when it's perfect.
boosts appreciated!
