I don't know if I'm the last person to know this but I just learned about Soulseek, which is music sharing software that's different from torrenting. It works so well and the selection is beyond belief! I found two albums that I've had on vinyl forever but could never find digital versions.

I started with a Linux flatpack, which hung my computer a couple times -- this *never* happens on Linux -- but then found out about Licorice, which is a client with a Debian repository and it's working great! Anyway, here's Ted Lundy and the Southern Mountain Boys singing It Rained a Mist, which is an obscure murder ballad. Arrr, y'all! 🏴‍☠️🦜

Me se ha ocurrido descargarme la lista de compartidos de un usuario en #soulseek a un fichero de texto, for science, y ha resultado tener un tamaño de 9MB

El kate se ha quedado pillado al pedirle que hiciera limpieza para ver lo interesante en claro.

El colega tiene la biblioteca con carpetas para cada letra del abecedario, números y caracteres no latinos para meter dentro cada grupo dependiendo de como empiece el nombre. Veo un TOC duro ahí.

not long after i searched online and found their website with a note about the CD i was looking for, but I never actually found a copy

maybe 10-15 years ago, i did another online search, and came up empty

on a whim, i just now looked again and found the recording on SoundCloud, yay for me

but get this, a few weeks ago i deleted my SC account!

so just rejoined long enough to grab this 12 minute track and i'm gonna put it in my #soulseek public folder

musically, it's not as exciting or interesting as i thought it was back then, but i'm quite pleased with my perseverance in tracking this down

maybe i'll use it as source material for a #noise opera...

this is the internet i remember, and love
