I used to crop all my photos into squares - even before Instagram made it trendy for a while.

In November, I posted a picture of these four trees, mentioning that the location and the look of the trees remind me of an African savannah.
Friday, I realised that it was probably my last chance to enjoy the location covered in snow. And I’m so glad I got to go. Everything was so peaceful and quiet. I had it all to myself, only saw the tracks of the people who had been there before me.
And no savannah associations this time.

This weekend’s obsession is: icicles. Not only the pretty icicle necklace on this bucket, but also the ones above it, that aren’t visible in the photo.
I have been attempting to capture them with the big camera, so more detailed pictures may follow later.

Not the most interesting scene to photograph, but my inner batteries are running really low, so I’m stuck at home. And over the past three days, I’ve been following the development of the tracks of the “wildlife” in my garden - wildlife being one more more domestic cats patrolling their territory.

Yesterday, after the snowfall, I noticed the patterns the snow created on my window. I found them very fascinating and wanted to capture them, but this was the best I could do with my phone. So ended up grabbing my old dslr. And what a world, I discovered once I attached my macro lens.
But, for now, this one will have to do, until I get around to sorting through the other pictures.

Oh, and today marks the one year anniversary of my first post on Pixelfed. I really like it here.

Frosty leaves.

I’m trying to dust off my good old DSLR after a few years of hibernation. So I spent a some time in the garden the other day, exploring the frosty leaf-creatures on the roof of my greenhouse.
I do feel more rusty, but I’m hoping I can regain the passion for other than the camera in my iphone.
