A week ago, a deep hole opened up next to the Somerville Community Path behind the high school.

*pats side of hole* This baby could ft so many toddlers.

I'm a little surprised DPW hasn't done anything about it after my 311 report last week. It didn't seem quite worthy of a 911 call, but it's definitely a risk—it's about 2 meters deep and maybe 40 cm across the top, although the "waist" is narrow. I stuck a traffic cone in there to help reduce the risk a bit...

At first I was intrigued at the idea of rentable cargo bikes, and then I was annoyed because they're "reserving" public infrastructure.

...but it appears that they actually have an arrangement with the MBTA to do this! I do think there's a risk of using up limited bike parking spaces but it does seem like a neat program, so let's see how it goes.
