It's #solotober so my #bgstats are a little skewed towards #boardgames that can be played solo this month.

New to me were:
⭐ Fire! - which I was surprised I hadn't tabled yet, it's interesting and I really should try to work through the remaining levels
⭐ Quests over Coffee - cute, quick print and play. I only played with the base game and I do think it needs the extra cards to make it shine.
⭐ CYOA: House of Danger - is it better than its be with the book? Maybe? Pretty weird story though!
⭐ Manhattan Project: War Machine - I don't know that I fully understood any strategy here and my score certainly reflected that.
⭐ Art Frenzy: Symphony - I might be better at a rock version. Or anything more modern!
⭐ Railroad Tiles - certainly less inky than Railroad Ink. Think I'd need to play it more.
⭐ Rolling Realms - it was OK, but the lack of cohesive the,e didn't work for me
⭐ Small Islands - have played this before but never logged it seams. It's a cute tile layer
⭐ Next Station Paris - have played this quite a few times on BGA. Mixes up the Next Station formula nicely.
⭐ Aleph Null - another "Must have missed logging this before". I like the theme of this one, but I think I prefer the gameplay of Lux Aeterna more. I feel the game thinks I'm smarter than I am
⭐ Empire - Quick economic game that doesn't use too many components and an economical design

@oysta wake me when #solotober ends?

With #solotober wrapped up and done, I give you October’s plays! I aimed for unique games each day, so there’s a lot of variety this time around. There were two more that didn’t fit: Palm Island (which was short and sweet) and Voidfall (which was long and savory).

My favorite #boardgames this month were Three Sisters, Witchcraft! (which I have yet to win), and Park Life!

#Solotober Day 🎃: #AlephNull
We’re cranking the thematics up to 11 with this one! Aleph Null is somewhat of a puzzle game about summoning the goatiest of devils, Baphomet. I’m not usually into these kind of puzzle games, but the bold theme got me interested. AND it’s by the same designer of Lux Aeterna, Tony Boydell!

#Solotober Day 31 - Final Girl (The Organism/Station 2891)
Halloween deserves a good horror game! Since I've had a hard time wrapping my head around this, I played on easy mode and limited it to a single Organism. (There were still three exposed victims.)

It's my first win! Talking things over with a friend a while ago helped me start thinking about it as a resource management game, which made a huge difference. With a new perspective, I might be able to wrap my head around it yet!
#boardgames

So many games this month (mostly due to the #solotober challenge). I played 40 games and 11 were logged for the first time.

#Xylotar had been doing quite well with my gaming group. We've also got one more game of the #Powergrid Fable USA campaign to go (of 3)

Board games I played in october 2024

Yes you’re reading it right, I played 32 different games this month, across all 31 days! It was solotober, a challenge where the goal is to play a solo game every day of the month

I used it as an opportunity to revisit some games I haven’t played in a while, and it also helped me slim down my collection slightly by reminding me of a couple of games I wasn’t really a fan of

Solotober can feel like a bit of a chore on some days, but I keep a few small games aside for those days

#BoardGames #Solotober

That marks the end of #solotober. It was exhausting to keep up with the schedule, and to be honest some days I started the game more because I felt compelled to do it than because I wanted to. I ended up having fun every day still. It was a good way to discover some of the characters that I hadn’t played yet, and just that would have been worth if on its own. But this whole thing was more of a challenge than a celebration.
#solotober 2024 day 31: Mantis, Drax, Groot, Rocket Raccoon vs High Evolutionary (inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3)
I am Groot
@nolando I already had my problems with #solotober (why not #soloctober?) I seriously doubt that #NeglectedNewvember is catchy enough.
But as a challenge you got my atention.
