I like playing short (under an hour) solo boardgames in the evenings. I've tried quite a few different games, but I'm getting hooked on flip and write games. It's almost no setup, very small footprint (couch or bed friendly), but still a lot of variability or complexity.

My top pick is Welcome to the moon and recently Flip town, loving both. Any other games for this genre?

I've discovered that if you just read 'player' as 'character' then pretty much any game becomes able to be played solo.

Pov: board games and cats. Wanted to start playing Tales of Arthurian Knights and Sir Percival nearly got eaten TWICE before his quest even started. 🤣

First time playing Rebecca Walks Home at Night, tonight with my daughter. Super simple and quick to play, but a lot of fun!

Regretting not buying the expansions with the Kickstarter, since it feels like there is a lot of potential to build on here. Sort of a magic the gathering feel, where a simple base game with mechanic modifying cards can create a lot of depth.

First game of Final Girl. I did not make it. But I had a lot of fun! I think I'd like to play through a few more times before forming a full opinion, but it feels like I could get a lot of play out of it. The additional feature films all look tempting.

My solo #boardgames Friday afternoon continues with a round of Cascadia. Also the first time I’ve played it. What a lovely game, breezy, brain burning, just a pleasure. #cascadia #soloboardgaming
Checking another in-hand game: Handy Brawl. Still learning the rules, but it definitely is easier than it looks. And fun!
I want to fight every monster, and play with every hero. A great PNP that might get a published version soon.

I finally learnt the rules to play Dragons of Etchinstone. Such a fun little game! It's portable, no table needed. There is space for estrategy, it keeps changing.
It's awesome!

More #Weekend #BoardGames! I played the crowdfunded copy of #Hamlet that I received last week (saving the new expansion for later).
In Hamlet, we build out the map and refine materials for a church that will elevate our village’s status to a proper hamlet! It mainly focuses on delivery, but big points are also earned by filling out the town with natural areas too.
I wish that the graphics had been printed on the wooden church though; my sticker placements were a little subpar.
