I like the sound of that.
Hopefully it is adjacent to #solarpunk ?
I wonder if there is a #hamradiopunk or similar concept ?
Maybe #radiofree and the #CBLA ?

@cybervegan I've always known this as deadbug prototyping. I don't know about #solderpunk but it sounds interesting. That wire isn't cat5 (I don't think), it's some other wire I garbage picked that's actually a little higher gauge than what you'd get from a cat5 cable, but you can't really see that in the pic. The wire connecting the diodes is 14 AWG Romex, mostly just to give it some structure - there's going to be no more than half an amp going through it normally.
Those diodes are actually just a single device, they're just packaged in the TO-243 case. The middle lead comes cut off and jumpered. However, using one (or using two diodes in the one package as a single diode) might not be a bad idea for heat dissipation, although in this case the current is low.
@tallship #Solderpunk fits my definition of leadership:
* Uses design to solve problems
* Priorities privacy, communications and sustainability
* Able to express concepts in a minimal and clear sense
* Articulate, being both able to explain with detail and analogy without being heavyhanded with prescription
* Mature enough to be accountable when taking decisions but also hands off to facilitate others to grow and take responsibility
#GeminiProtocol is not doubt only one facet of such +qualities
It's okay to "solder on", as long as you do it with a #punk heart ❤️
#Solderpunk should be proud of what he inspired and guided into what we have today in #Gemini, BTW.
