I'm Ártemis, aka #queerterpreter. This is my academic/languagery account, or that's what I'm going for. I'm a #sociolinguist and a PhD Candidate researching non-binary Spanish. I'm also an ES<>EN #translator and #interpreter. My diss leans heavily on #corpus linguistics, specifically corpora scraped from the birdsite. The data is safe but I'm in mourning.

Hi, I'm Joey. I'm a #linguist, more specifically a #sociolinguist and #phonetician, at #BYU. I do research on American English accents and dialects, with most of my recent focus being on #UtahEnglish.

I also think about methods and quantitative stuff a lot within the area of #sociophonetics. I like #rstats and #dataviz.

An important part of my research has to do with #LanguageIdeologies, i.e. not how we speak, but how we *think* we (and others) speak, and how we judge ourselves and others based on that.

I have notably worked on the ways of speaking of German-Turkish young women in #Berlin and how they are exposed to #LinguisticRacism.
