An MRI study of brain structure and function in almost 12,000 children aged 9-10, and 649 lifestyle variables, found that socioeconomic factors were the largest correlate with variations in brain function (at 16%). Changes were greatest in sensorimotor regions susceptible to stress and fatigue. Controlled for socioeconomics, IQ and brain structure were unrelated.

The real reason I still use "real" cameras instead of cameraphones, is because no camera brand makes cameraphones.

Except Sony; or at least they did. Even Sony had to eventually cut back on photography-centric design to cater to the overwhelming Tiktok and AI-ridden consumer market.

Every phone manufacturer today boasts cutting-edge camera technology, only to be crippled by camera software that has little to do with photography.

Langiage matters and why I think I hate AI is a valid generalized rsponse:

#AI as a catch all phrase for fast but still extremely stupid software (slop in slop out) and as a tool/valid synonym to completely obliterate the public conversation where you need tools and a social contract (both absent so far) to have an honest conversation and preserve comprehension and the recognition of facts ... I hate AI is fitting!

Well damn. I live in a city with a public transport system that, while we do complain, is quite decent and I have absolutely zero plans or desire to ever again own a car.

I do however remember the public transport death loop of living in a smaller place. Once the public transport to the nearby city where everyone worked, studied, did their shopping and so on became unreliable a lot of people needed to get cars. The more cars the less public transport could be justified the more need for cars and so on.

I find it very two-faced, that our societies are all about "incentives" when poor people have to be coarsed off public support, but nothing is said about them when it's the rich people who should behave civil and contribute.

It's all mandatory to the poor and all voluntary to the rich.
