Few months before I quit socials 6 years ago, I was posting memes in hopes I'd get a reaction or two from people who know me in person. Damn, that platform used to be called twitter
I'm glad I cut myself off from socials when lockdowns started. I mean the writing was on the wall that literally nobody cared about me either if it's in real life or online. It sucks cos I knew most of them from primary school but it's ok.

@alineblankertz @pixelfed I think we should start sketching outlines of what we would want from a social medium before we start building it.
It's very tempting to just rebuild what we already know open source, but the adventurous part is in designing new dynamics, maybe aimed at connecting people locally, or to invoke interesting conversations between members of a platform.
By just rebuilding what we know from tech bro's, that's not going to happen.
