A view of Moel Ddu over the Glaslyn Estuary today.

Moel Ddu translates to Black Hill* and as you can see in the photo it really takes its name seriously. It's a bizarre trick of nature that when the sun is shining and every other peak is gleaming with light, Moel Ddu will still look black as night. It's like a goth mountain and I definitely have a soft spot for it.

*technically 'bald black hill' and it's actually a mountain

Ras Trawsfynydd was fun today (even though I tried too hard to keep up with someone and was pooped before the end, oops). Lovely route (a bit tarmacy but very scenic), jolly vibes and all in aid of south Snowdonia Search & Rescue. Thoroughly recommended! 🏃‍♀️⛰️ 👍

Auf den #Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) hoch war der Aufstieg genauso wahnsinnig beeindruckend wie das Ziel. Hier waren wir gerade erst losgelaufen und wussten noch nicht, dass wir später die Wolkendecke durchbrechen und fast einen Sonnenbrand kriegen würden.
