Looking above the raised pond on this hot day. I love a tropical look. Filled out nicely with permanent hardy Rodgersia, Ligularia The Rocket and Othello and Bergenia The Admiral. Added for summer are bananas - Musa basjoo, Chinese golden banana and Abyssinian Red plus a couple of Yuccas I grew from seed. Just out of shot is Tetrapanax - tough to establish here but coming along.

Finally, a warm, dry day after nine straight days of cold and wet. If you ignore the Sports Direct bag full of weeds, it looks very lush. I'm thinking of rose petals like natural confetti, not litter. Stars here are huge Giant Scabious, Ligularia Desdemona and self-seeded campanula.

My poor garden is horribly neglected at the moment which makes me a bit sad and stressed. In my defence, its good for wildlife so I'll leave off tidying it for another month.

Good news though, I have just planted my first fruit tree 🌳 which is making me happy. A self fertile apple, that I am training as a stepover.
