Hotel owner tried to claim that rooms it was letting out were 'flat's because they had a microwave, fridge, kettle, and bathroom.
So far they've wasted thousands of taxpayer money by challenging the council and losing twice, and are continuing to appeal.
All because they don't want the extra scrutiny and cost by registering as a HMO.

Schon vor Jahrzehnten, als ich noch in Göttingen lebte, gehörte dieses Gebäude (neben dem Iduna Zentrum) zu den schlimmsten Wohnbunkern in Göttingen.
Es ist unfassbar, dass sowas Jahrzehnte möglich ist, solche katastrophalen Wohnbedingungen aufrechtzuerhalten.

(First it was toilet button....twice. Had to have hand shower swapped when it busted. Our shower fixtures are literally chipping off, and now our faucet is dying.)
