My most ambitious 3D printing project. Someone else's model. 25 hours printing so far. Can you tell what it is yet?

Usually use eSUN filament but this flat grey is Elegoo and it is printing well.

I'm going to look into what #PrusaSlicer and #Slic3r offer. In the meantime, #Formware has a SaaS utility that is working pretty well for me. Just wish they offered a paid version (service or local) so I could get my stuff processed faster.

@DigiDavidex

#Cura è sconsigliato perché è visto come SW per niubbi e molte parametrizzazioni non si possono implementare, ma in realtà nelle ultime versioni c'è praticamente tutto, basta saperlo cercare e usare

@anymouse_404 @fribbledom Sure, but this can be done with any current printer too. The design to use slices makes sense, but non-planar printing has been tested and does work, but the slicer has to support it (there are other elements involved of course, e.g. clearance around the nozzle).
However going non-planar means reinventing the print method which slicers (designed on slices, after all) don't want to do as it means moving away from a very stable method with lots of time invested.

And here's a #slic3r build from 6 years ago that can do it: https://github.com/DrEricEbert/Slic3r_NonPlanar_Slicing

I used #Slic3r and #Pronterface for many years to print with my #3Dprinter, but I gave a try to UltiMaker #Cura and it seems to work quite well. I'm impressed by the results and the speed I can get from my old printer. Things have improved a lot since the last time I tried it.
