That sleep wasn't great. I'm over at the in-laws for...reasons. My #sleepapnea mask strap snapped at the velcro end just as I was drifting off. This was not helpful. Fixed it with sellotape, swearing outrageously as I did so. Fell asleep... Strap slipped out of the sellotape. I grabbed more sellotape to fix it again... You guessed it... Swearing outrageously again...

Really sets you up for the (long) day ahead!

🎵🎶 Ah, the didgeridoo: an ancient wind instrument and now, apparently, a cure for sleep apnea! Because when it comes to medical breakthroughs, who needs CPAP machines when you can just blow a giant horn? 🎺😴

I definitely slept for 5 hours tonight. It wasn't enough. #sleepapnea

Last night, I cranked the humidity on my #cpap up to 6... and holy shit, that was too much. Apparently, it caused my mask to probably "rainout" (new term, yay!). Another day of waking up tired even after using CPAP.

... It also didn't help that I stayed up until 1am preparing a legal demand letter to get my husband to submit VFSRAC for insurance coverage with Canada Life. #sleepapnea

Holy CRAP. I slept through. I actually slept through. On the hottest night of the year with a ventilator. How the HELL did I accomplish that? No idea, but it was bloody lovely! #confused #sleepapnea
How decades of sleep research led to a new sleep apnea drug

A University of Toronto professor’s research on the physiology of sleep and breathing has paved the way for a new sleep apnea treatment that recently reported positive results in a phase 3 clinical trial.

I saw an obnoxiously scammy ad for a D**ila E**o #SleepApnea pillow. So to spite them, I immediately ordered an exact knock-off from AliExpress for 1/4 of their "discounted" price.

So, did the #Ad work or not?

I think we can all agree that sleep is important. But messed-up sleep, where one stops breathing (sleep apnea), is kind of bad and (atop everything else) can also cause memory impairments.

Had another sleep study. I now have sleep apnea—which is severe enough to qualify me for a CPAP, but only if I had commercial insurance. According to Medicare, I don’t stop breathing quite enough to qualify.

Sleep apnea increases with age. It seems like it would be smart, cost-effective preventive medicine to reduce cardiac stress and potentially prevent a cardiac event. I’m having a hard time making this make sense.
