So when I'd updated the OBS packages for arm64 I'd noticed that screen recording wasn't working in gnome but worked fine in plasma. So it appears the gnome session isn't starting pipewire properly any longer, as no sound device is registered. I guess I overlooked that since I prefer silence, seems I need to look into this issue. #slackaroni

Ok I finally uploaded #gnome 50.0 to #slackaroni aarch64. I still really suggest using “slpkg” as the package manager but slackpkg+ will do as well. Pay special attention to gexiv2 & libgexiv2 and I’ve dropped “totem” and “rythmbox” as they are broken with libpeas and/or gir-2.0.

The repo does have “clapper” which is a gtk4 gstreamer video player as a recommended replacement for totem. Outside of that, there’s no more x11 session— Wayland only.

Uhh enjoy!?!

I added the latest #firefox 149.0 to my #slackaroni repo for #slackwareaarch64 a little while ago. It’s among the many unlisted packages available cuz I haven’t thought of a better way to list them than Apache and its directory listing already provides with no effort. https://slackware.lngn.net/

Outside of gnome, there are a few real updates coming to #slackaroni in a little bit. New matugen, noctalia releases, and some other stuff and all that jazz.
I’ve looked at gnome 50, updated a bunch of slackbuilds not online yet but not looked at patching the problem packages. But lots of userdb nonsense in there, which elogind has some support for but never released it, so not sure what I’ll do for that. Either patch it out or just keep the 49 release (which is already patched to high hell), we’ll see when I get the motivation to go that far. #slackaroni
I pushed a bunch of gnome updates, new dms release, quickshell refresh and more to #slackaroni arm64 repo today. https://slackware.lngn.net/pub/aarch64/slackwareaarch64-current/ChangeLog.txt

ok #slackwareaarch64 #slackaroni users can now do a 'slackpkg install obs' to get your hands on the latest OBS-Studio packages.

I pushed the latest #librewolf 148.0.2 for #slackwareaarch64 as well along with the earlier posted #firefox release to my #slackaroni arm64 repo. Hell, librewolf hasn’t even announced the release yet. Freaky fast, like that sandwich place. https://slackware.lngn.net/

I pushed updates to #hyprland, #mangowc, #quickshell, #noctalia and some more today. Also, aarch64 has all that plus #firefox 148.0.2 if this message makes it out to the world. https://slackware.lngn.net/ #slackaroni
