Okay I finally had a quiet moment to listen to/watch #CinemabyLeeKnowandSeungmin and first of all how dare they sound so lovely together? (Please do more duets; your voices together are SO nice!) 😍

Second, I'm actually <*chinhands*> at them because oh baby are there *layers* here; this is an ode to STAY, this is an ode to skz, this is an ode to their 7 year long journey to get where they are, this is an ode to being performers with massive stage presence and trying to meet fan expectations while having privacy, this is an ode to each other (both Seungmin and Lee Know to each other, and also them to the other members, I think), an ode to how fame can unanchor you if you're not careful.

"Cinema" is a veeeery deliberate choice of title and theme. And also, the entire framing makes me think of "All the world's a stage / and all the men and women merely players" (from *As You Like It*, Shakespeare); the full monologue is maudlin and bitter, and definitely this song could have taken that bent... but instead...

It's a comfort show we all know. It's that one we know tugs our heart strings and might make us cry but mostly it's silly and feel good and always says "hey there you are 💕".

Because nobody is SKZ's biggest fan bar SKZ members themselves, remember? They're always the most hype. The most comforting. Always rallying around each other. Everything so far that's knocked out less well-knit groups has just made them closer and stronger and they just keep going and always praise each other and STAY as the reasons they keep going.

Lee Know and Seungmin probably made everyone cry with this song, I would bet you. But I guess those two had a LOT of feelings and felt confident in showing them like this.

Okay relistened to #EscapeByChanandHyunjin too and, again, I stand by it being maybe less subtle than Red Lights.

But also 100000% heavier on the implied they fuckin', which is actually impressive considering Red Lights entire *theme*.

But also... purely on rhythm and sound? Mmmm gimme more of this emo poprock (pop-punk?) sound. Did not know I needed that or how well Chan and Hyunjin suit that genre's sound til this song. 20/10.

Okay I listened to + watched Truman again and I actually think Felix and Han wrote a troll rap?

First, they're both smoother than that when performing for MVs... except when they're being dorks on purpose. The MV has SO MUCH "being dorks on purpose" energy, from the shot angles to the costuming choices to the incredibly awkward punk/rap dance choreo.

Also, I know they both can sing and rap smoother and faster in both Korean and English. The pacing is 100% purely for effect and Vibes.

Also also... the lyrics are *so silly*. Adorable, but silly, and completely not vibing with the Mood of the MV unless you take it as they're being silly with the WHOLE THING. (And pay attention to what Han rapped in Korean. That's um. <*giggle*> really giving it away lol.)

So in conclusion, their #skz_mixtape contribution is 100% sunshine boys are silly boys and I stand by this. (Even if they try to say otherwise. I'm onto you.)
