In Ansible, Dave Langford reports an item from SF writer Tobias Buckell. Who quotes an online article, apparently extruded ***by an AI***, containing this TOTAL FRICKING LIE:

'In an interview with Locus Magazine, Buckell said that using ChatGPT allowed him to create more complex, nuanced, and realistic characters without sacrificing pacing or plot. He stated that without ChatGPT’s help, he would not have been able to finish his manuscript on time.’

In between retro computing tinkering, I'm also planning a small-scale and nonviolent butlerian jihad. Would it be possible to DDOS all the worlds AI chatbots with simultaneous , insanly difficult requests, like "quick, give me the first 6280 trillion digits of pi" or "describe, in your own words, the latest 10.000 years of the ever slumbering Chtulhus dreams, night by night, with detailed and insightful analysis, based on freudian principles but also give me something fresh"?
