Have you seen a Buff Tailed Bumblebee yet this year? They like all types of flowers, particularly open daisy-type ones due to having short tongues.

The worker bees have an almost white tail (it’s the queen that has a buff-coloured tail).

Up a bit earlier this morning, because Mum accidentally hit the emergency 'help' call button on her phone at 5am.

It is bin day:
Pink - garden adn food waste
Brown - bottles and cans
Black - non recycleable waste

I have done bins and had rice for breakfast. I will be meeting Sue at work in a bit to do more bins at the church.
Afterwards we'll go over to IKea to get some Samla box lids so we can finish off packing ornaments before the builders start work.

Bin day:

Tired again. Bad sleep last night and more night sweats and bad dreams.
I couldn't find a position to sleep in where my foot didn't hurt.

As a consequence, my head is a bit fuzzy at the moment, but I am going to sort the bins in the house and collect together the recycling so that Sue can take it out to the wheelie bins when she is home from work.

Hopefully I will feel clearer headed by then.

Today we loaded all the tools,
And went to Boothstown Repair Cafe.
Short staffed,
So did lots of repairs.
Left quickly,
To pick up Mum.
Went to the walk in centre,
And got our flu jabs.
Then picked up prescriptions for Mum,
Before having lunch.
Went to B&Q,
And also ToolStation.
Then home to work on the wheelchair ramp,
Taking the landing platform apart.
Removed all the hidden granite setts,
And installed adjustable feet.
Rebuilt the ramp,
And then into the workshop.
Carried on with the oak chair repair,
Planed up the repair,
And test fitted the first joint.
Got the first joint glued up,
Checked and it is correct.
Had dinner with Mum,
Then catching up on videos.
Tired now,
So off to bed.

Today it was/is very very wet outside,
But still I went out to work.
Had to clean a meeting room,
As a room user left it a mess.
Sent emails,
And did a load of admin.
Finally read our utility meters,
And submitted readings.
Went to the GP,
To follow up on Mum's missing prescriptions.
Returned Mum's clean laundry,
And changed a dead light bulb for her.
Did caretaking job,
And more admin.
Did research on camera drones,
And watched some videos.
Tired now,
Off to bed.

Each year I envy those who see lots of #meteors (though grateful for the photos they share). In spite of spending meteor-seasons staring into the abyss I mean the sky, I rarely see them. Last night I saw one of the #Perseids streak halfway across the sky! And two nights ago a briefer but very bright one.

There'll be another night of hopeful sleeplessness tonight.
