Checked off three more #Idaho #backcountry airstrips on my current #XPlane #flightsim mission. Only two to go, way south on the Nevada border.

Ended my day at Thomas Creek airstrip (2U8). I was expecting an actual airstrip, but instead it is just a flat meadow with a couple of wind socks.

Runways were listed as 3/21, so I landed RWY 3 on what I assumed might be the runway. No squirrels were harmed as I mowed the grass.

I had that WANT to fly and I used my callsign for the first time, which was fun. ADS-B exchange registered it correctly so I assume I entered it into my transponder correctly. It was pretty gusty on the ground but otherwise the flying was pretty smooth! I tried out a GPS approach to get familiar with the instrumentation in this aircraft and everything works as expected which is always a good thing.

I've been making a list of pretty much every flying event within 150nm of my location and this is going to be a summer of a lot of flying to those events. This weekend I'll be flying Young Eagles and then over to Waupaca (KPCZ) for their fly-in and car show in the afternoon!
