This was one of our pitching sessions at Sisi Film Lab. We had about 10 students who had written their final projects, and each of them came to present and pitch their ideas.

Most of the crew on this short film were students from Sisi Film Lab in Kampala. For many of them, it was their first time working on a set, more like their first internship before the TV series we later shot in October.

This project was first planned as a TV series, but during production things changed and we had to rethink the story. In the end, we focused on two different characters and built their stories into two feature films instead.

Five short films from Sisi Film Collective were nominated in the regional nominations of the Uganda Film Festival across the Western, Northern, and Central regions. Each of these films was made through teamwork, long days on set, and a lot of learning along the way. It means a lot to see the work recognized.

This was the location we used for a scene where a young lady is found abandoned in the bushes. We needed a place with tall grass so the setting would match the story in the film. We found this spot near our film studio. It had a lot of tall grass and very few people around, and it worked perfectly for the scene we wanted to shoot.

This was one of the sets from a short film we shot. The story needed a very old, poor home, so we worked closely with the set designer to get that feeling right. He peeled parts of the paint off the walls, brought in old mats and worn-out items, and slowly built the space to look like it had been lived in for many years.

Conold, also known as King Kim shares his journey into film. Teaching himself a little bit about film and finally realising he still had a lot to learn. He lost his equipment in a flood and started over again, but he never gave up.
